Below are two more updates specifically in Los Prendedisos region. There is much to celebrate below, so please join us in thanking God for His grace and faithfulness.
We are also grateful for you—our friends and partners—for the sacrificial love that you give to our brothers and sisters in one of the most remote regions in the world.
Bath House Project:
A long-anticipated shout of praise has happened, as together we have finally completed the bath house project in Los Prendedisos!
We began the project the summer before the political crisis in Nicaragua and, praise the Lord, we were able to complete the project just before the global outbreak of the Coronavirus. God has repeatedly provided resources and teams for this project.
Through the process, many of you have been an example of the love of Christ to these villagers. They often feel forgotten and alone; but through this project and the work of Pastor Evers in the community, we will soon see the two new gospel communities formed with local leadership. Through this long process, God has been faithful to draw men and women to himself as we have been faithful to continue the work He gave us to do.
Church Networking and Ministry:
Recently the group from 12 Stone Church spent a couple of days in the village ministering to the children and just having fun with the community. One of my favorite memories from that week was seeing the men, young and old, develop some healthy competition and camaraderie as they batted the volleyball around.
As I think back and hear the roar of laughter in my head of the men playing a simple game, I can’t help but wonder how God will use all of these seemingly unconnected things to reach this village. Pray for the village of Los Prendedisos, pray for the leaders there and the leadership team from HMC that will continue to engage and encourage these men and woman as they continue on their journey of following Jesus Christ as Lord.
I am reminded of Isaiah 43:19 “Look, I am about to do something new! Even now it is coming, do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.”
