Access to medical care is something most of us take for granted. While affording medical care may be an issue for some of us, in Nicaragua it is not a matter of affordable health care it is a matter of availability. In many rural areas people often are hours from the nearest medical facility and when they can reach the health care centers they are often poorly staffed and supplied. How discouraging to travel for several hours to reach the clinic, see the doctor, only to find the medication the doctor prescribed is unavailable. With the help of our medical professional volunteers, we are able to take the clinic to the people and provide medications. Along with providing basic medical care we also provide basic dentistry, cleaning, extraction, and basic dental heath education. One of the most rewarding days on our very first medical mission was seeing the smile of a man who for years refused to smile because of his teeth. After a thorough cleaning he smiled with pride for the first time in years. Join with us to bring better health, encouragement, and the hope found in Christ to the people of the rural mountains of Nicaragua.
