medicalAccess to medical care is not the only problem many of the villagers in the rural areas face.  Even armed with a prescription from the local doctor, medicines are often difficult to find.  In most cases if the local clinic does not provide them, the villagers do without.  Medicines that cannot be provided by the local clinic must be purchased at a Farmacia in a major village, often hours away by bus.  The cost of transportation together with the cost of the prescription often becomes a financial burden to the families.  Our long term goal is to provide a “local Farmacia” housed within the “community center” to ease the burden on the families of these rural villages.
